Graduate profile

The graduate profile for the Bachelor of Elementary Education describes a student who has completed all the required credits, either in a professionalization plan or a complete plan covering all the academic areas of the curriculum. At the end, the student should have the following competences

  • To be able to integrate his/her personal experience with his/her knowledge of teaching methods, teaching theories, and disciplinary knowledge. so he/she can effectively contribute to educational contexts and the development of the population where basic primary education is projected.
  • To understand and develop integrated and flexible pedagogical and curricular proposals for an education of children and young people.
  • To be permanently updated in order to strengthen processes of transformation of the country’s education from the changing and demanding dynamics to meet different situations.
  • To be able to construct integrated curricula by relating knowledge and developing teaching tools that promote curricular integration and transversality, having clear pedagogical stances that enable to address diverse contexts.
  • To be a socio-political subject and a performer in the construction of a peace culture located in the school and the community with critical knowledge of educational and social policies, and a manager of school change initiatives involving the educational community.
